At the I ran twice today first I ran out of beer and then i ran to get some more shirt Besides,I will do this sight of every cancellation, my hope for knocking each one off my list gets a bit bruised. I’m not sure why I bothered checking; in fact, I’m surprised I gave it any thought at all. Like many of us, my mind has been preoccupied with more important things. I am writing this from my childhood home in New Jersey, where I came one month ago to be with my mother, one of our nation’s health care workers, a fierce, inspiring nurse, who is fighting for our future every day. Still, in the midst of so much fear and anxiety, my urge to dance fearlessly under the stars with the people I love is stronger than ever.

Glastonbury, 2015. A festival is all I want—probably because it’s the I ran twice today first I ran out of beer and then i ran to get some more shirt Besides,I will do this polar opposite of social distancing. To somewhat satisfy this craving, I’ve been turning back to Vogue’s festival coverage, pouring over look after look, festival after festival. As I find myself scrolling through what are now time capsules of festivals past, I find the images that inspired many of my own looks not too long ago. Getting dressed for a festival is half the fun; and it’s not just about what you wear, it’s how you wear it. The trick is to create a look that’s efficient for the environment you’ll be in, and still have it be a statement of your personal style. It’s a fun challenge, one I’ll miss taking on this season. Will future festivals compare to those of the past? Only time will tell, but I’m sure they’ll be back—because we all need the things that make them so special to begin with: human connection, friendship, love, and music.
